In this Digital era, there are thousands of mediums which allow us to express ourselves. Still, Writing is one of the oldest and beautiful ways of expressing ourselves. There is a lot of magic involved in writing. Believe me – Even now, nothing can match the excitement of reading a printed book.
Why did I start to write? Let me tell you how I started writing. I was making New Year resolutions each and every year. One of the most common resolutions which I make includes recording my daily activities in a diary. Every year, I start writing my daily activities in the diary but I’ve never continued to write for more than a month. Even this year, I started recording my daily activities. However, I did not continue after 4th January 2020, which is just four days after New Year. Now and then, when I get a flow with words, I write them down. Later, I type my writings on beautiful backgrounds and post it on my social media platform like Instagram and Twitter. I had fairly good response from friends and family. They liked reading them. So, I continued posting my writings. I won’t say that I have mastered the art of writing, but I love the fun involved in writing. The most beautiful part about writing and posting in social media platforms is that when people actually give a read, it makes them happy. There are times when people whom I had lost contact previously call me to just discuss about my writings. These kind gestures act as a beautiful motivation for every writer, I guess. I know, great stories are not said by great writers but are said by great listeners/readers. Cheers to all my beautiful readers, I started writing my own personal blog on the month of May 2020. Ever since then, I am beautifully collecting my thoughts to give the best shot of literature. I won’t say that the blogging journey is a bed of roses that when you post something, the whole World will be reading them. Every journey needs a beginning – the first step I would say. For me, Blogging has introduced me into a whole new World of words. Literature is beautiful if you focus on how to play with words. Words, if used properly can open anyone’s heart. That’s why our elders kept on warning us to choose our words carefully. Yes, my 10th grade Math Teacher constantly told us this: “You cannot take back your words. It’s like spilled milk”. I realised her words later in my life. Better late than never, I am happy for the realization. In the first month of Blogging, I hardly got any views. I was posting the links to my blogposts everywhere possible. Marketing a blog is a tough task – tougher for a beginner. Little by little, I started gaining audience. The best part is when people started writing to me in the comment section. It’s what every Blogger craves for. Now, it’s been almost three months since I have started Blogging. Thank God, I was able to reach quite a lot number of beautiful and kind readers.
I am planning to write a story. Hope I write a good one. That is the story of how I started to write and the roller-coaster ride of my blog. Hope you too have an interesting story of how you started to write. Write your story in the comments section and keep smiling always. Have a wonderful day!
It’s been almost one and a half months since I started blogging. I always wanted to express my thoughts with the World. That is the reason why you’ll see a lot of my thoughts expressed in my blog. When the lockdown was announced here in India due to COVID-19 outbreak, I came up with an idea of writing my thoughts down in a digital forum. Within the next few days, I bought my domain and started to blog.
1. Initial Days As I started blogging, I was not sure of what to do and what not to do. I was posting my writings and shared to my friends in social media forums. Initially, my posts were getting very low views and there was literally no one to interact with my posts. I was a bit worried, but I thought of never giving up on this. I love to write poems, articles about nature, inspiration and technology. So, I continued to improve my content and hoped one day people will love reading my writings.
2. My experience with Blogging After somedays of struggle, I learnt that Blogging is all about how you make your content reach your readers. For that reason, you’ve to find where your readers are and what they are interested in. I started a new Facebook page for my Blog (https://www.facebook.com/nalaemton/) and posted the links to my blog content in the page. Slowly and steadily, I got followers to my Facebook page and they were also viewing my blog, which I thought was a very good sign. It proved to be one of the best things to do as a beginner in blogging. On the other hand, I started posting my blog content in Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/nalaemton_s/) where my friends read my writings and started talking to me about my blog. It so happened that I noticed the hashtag #WritingCommunity in Twitter and started using the hashtag in all my posts. Twitter has a very good Writing Community that connects Bloggers globally. A large number of experienced Bloggers started interacting with my posts and my self-confidence grew up day by day. Then, I also started to take part in Comment Exchange Programs where I got a chance to read fellow bloggers’ writings and get inspiration from them. They’ve generously started to interact with my posts like how I was reading their posts and sharing my thoughts with them. Little by little, my blog got more audience and reached 1000+ views by the end of the month.
3. Learnings There is always something to learn from success and failure. Getting 1000+ views may sound like a very small feat for an experienced Blogger, but on the other hand for me I consider it a milestone in my blogging journey. All that I learnt in the first month of Blogging is that you have to find your readers, help others to reach their goals and last but not the least – be hopeful and do your best.
Conclusion Finally, I would like to end this blog post by letting you know my blogging goals for the current month. Hopefully, I want to reach 2000+ views this month. If you’re a Blogger and if you want me to read your writings, kindly comment your blog links below. I’ll go through your blog and share my thoughts. Constructive suggestions are always welcomed. Thank You for taking time off your busy schedule and reading my article. Have a wonderful day. Good Luck!
How many of us know that the word ‘blog’ is a truncation of the word ‘weblog’? On reading the before sentence, I am completely sure that a strange question will arise in your mind. Is the blogging trend outdated now? I understand your thoughts clearly. There are a considerable amount of people who read blogs and make the most of it. Imagine if you want to search for a particular information, I am sure that you won’t read the entire blog post from top to bottom. However, I am 100 percent confident that you will skim through the blog post and fetch the information which you need the most.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t say that blogging has become outdated or old fashioned. Blogging just got evolved especially during the Digital Age that we are living in. For instance, let me share with you some information about WordPress. WordPress is a Content Management Platform developed in 2003 which is almost 17 years ago. Huge number of websites, including the one which you are currently reading have been developed using WordPress Themes and Plugins. In 2016, WordPress announced the .blog domain. As described in Wikipedia, WordPress is used by more than 60 million websites as of April 2019. I hope these facts leave you with the conclusion that blogging will continue to evolve in the years to come.
