Sky in my mind

Ever looked at the sky and wondered what it is made up of? I have been very curious when it comes to reading about sky facts. It is mind boggling even now when I am writing a blog post on ‘Sky’. The Universe holds a lot of mysteries and we are yet to decode a lot number of them. Some years back, Pluto was knocked off from the ‘Planet’ list. I felt very sorry for him (Just kidding). I hope someday I will unravel any one mystery of our universe. Hope is a good word. Faith is an awesome word. I love the positive vibes created when hope and faith are instilled in our minds. As far as mankind is concerned, hope and faith are amazing traits which we had kept alive for a very long time.

I still remember getting drenched in rain for the first time. It was a great experience. My mother made me paper boats and I was happily set sailing them on the flood water. The water current was very fast and it was swiftly taking all my paper boats and drowning them in the drain. Lightning and Thunder gave us company all night long. Life feels good when we understand it less. During those days, I don’t even know what causes rain. I just thought that water pours from sky to cool the Earth. Later, when I found out that rain is caused by clouds – My whole imagination of the sky changed. Science got explanation for everything. Little we know, yet there are lots yet to be known.

The people of the 21st century can never forget the current year 2020. We locked ourselves at home for a very long time now. I hope soon things will turn back to normal. Again I say, Hope is a good word. So, is praying. Keep our World in your prayers. Every night during this Lockdown (even yesterday), I go with my father to the terrace where we walk for some time and I watch the sky for a long time. Believe me, it’s the best time for sky watching. Some days, you’ll see clouds spread throughout the sky. Some days, you’ll see star-filled sky. Some days, you even get a chance to watch shooting stars. Every time I look at the sky during the night, I check for the Evening Star – Venus. Venus is the closest planet to our Earth and it is awesome to see Venus at night. Some nights especially when it is raining, I won’t have the chance to see even one star. In those days, our mighty warrior satellite Moon presents her with the thunder and lightning in the background. Without getting wet in the rain, I go inside my room and wish ‘Good Night’ to our planet.

The Sky keeps me guessing. I don’t know what to do but just close my eyes and continue dreaming. Sky in my mind!

Why do you write?

In this Digital era, there are thousands of mediums which allow us to express ourselves. Still, Writing is one of the oldest and beautiful ways of expressing ourselves. There is a lot of magic involved in writing. Believe me – Even now, nothing can match the excitement of reading a printed book.

Why did I start to write? Let me tell you how I started writing. I was making New Year resolutions each and every year. One of the most common resolutions which I make includes recording my daily activities in a diary. Every year, I start writing my daily activities in the diary but I’ve never continued to write for more than a month. Even this year, I started recording my daily activities. However, I did not continue after 4th January 2020, which is just four days after New Year. Now and then, when I get a flow with words, I write them down. Later, I type my writings on beautiful backgrounds and post it on my social media platform like Instagram and Twitter. I had fairly good response from friends and family. They liked reading them. So, I continued posting my writings. I won’t say that I have mastered the art of writing, but I love the fun involved in writing. The most beautiful part about writing and posting in social media platforms is that when people actually give a read, it makes them happy. There are times when people whom I had lost contact previously call me to just discuss about my writings. These kind gestures act as a beautiful motivation for every writer, I guess. I know, great stories are not said by great writers but are said by great listeners/readers. Cheers to all my beautiful readers, I started writing my own personal blog on the month of May 2020. Ever since then, I am beautifully collecting my thoughts to give the best shot of literature. I won’t say that the blogging journey is a bed of roses that when you post something, the whole World will be reading them. Every journey needs a beginning – the first step I would say. For me, Blogging has introduced me into a whole new World of words. Literature is beautiful if you focus on how to play with words. Words, if used properly can open anyone’s heart. That’s why our elders kept on warning us to choose our words carefully. Yes, my 10th grade Math Teacher constantly told us this: “You cannot take back your words. It’s like spilled milk”. I realised her words later in my life. Better late than never, I am happy for the realization. In the first month of Blogging, I hardly got any views. I was posting the links to my blogposts everywhere possible. Marketing a blog is a tough task – tougher for a beginner. Little by little, I started gaining audience. The best part is when people started writing to me in the comment section. It’s what every Blogger craves for. Now, it’s been almost three months since I have started Blogging. Thank God, I was able to reach quite a lot number of beautiful and kind readers.

Stats of my Blog at a glance

I am planning to write a story. Hope I write a good one. That is the story of how I started to write and the roller-coaster ride of my blog. Hope you too have an interesting story of how you started to write. Write your story in the comments section and keep smiling always. Have a wonderful day!

Highway Plant

Everytime I travel through the highway,
I see green plants planted in the middle of the road for dividing the lanes.
Beautiful – I should say,
But who is taking care of them?
Who planted them there?
Who fixed their fate?
I believe we won’t be able to stand in the middle of the highway for atleast an hour.
Who has the patience to persist –
The smoke from the trucks,
The heat of the sun,
The harsh polluted wind,
The not-so-gentle rain &
The never ending noise of vehicles?
Patience is a million dollar virtue,
But we have a choice. Don’t we?
What choice does the highway plant have in it’s life?
Do we even give it a choice?
Still, it never fails to make travellers happy.
Maybe, it is a living proof that no matter where we are, we still have something to offer for the betterment of Life.
Stay blessed Highway Plant!
